Handout on circular saw table safety instructions. For A Circular Saw 1. The saw blade should be raised no more than 1/8 inch above the stock. 2. The material edge that is held against the rip fence or miter gauge should be straight. 3. Be sure the blade doesn’t contact the throat plate, the fence, or the guard before the power is turned on. 4. Clamp stop blocks to the table to prevent kickbacks before lowering material. 5.
