The word “badge” can make some safety managers wince. It sounds like something from a school classroom, a video game, or a corporate engagement program that looks good in a slide deck but gets mocked on the shop floor. In many workplaces, especially industrial, construction, transportation, warehousing, manufacturing, utilities, public works, and field service environments, employees can spot forced enthusiasm immediately.
