Fall from Rain-Slick Roof
A 45-year-old roofer died after falling 30 feet from a rain-slicked, 5/12 pitch plywood roof deck. The incident occurred while a crew of six was installing roofing material in light rain. When the victim realized there was no anchor point available for him to connect his fall protection harness, he descended the ladder, retrieved an anchor, and returned to the roof to install it on the ridge.
