Safety in Handling Gasoline

• Liquid gasoline does not burn, the vapors from the liquid do.
• Gasoline vapors are generally invisible.
• Gasoline vapors can, and usually do, travel long distances to an igni-tion source.
• Vapors are flash ready at -45 ̊F. (Unless you are working in -45 ̊F temperatures, gasoline vapors are hazardous!)
• Because gasoline vapors are heavier than air, the vapors will settle and flow the same way a liquid will; often settling into basements, sewers and low lying drains.
