Must Employers Maintain Records of Accidents or Injuries? 

Yes

Must Employers Report Injuries?

Yes, all injuries resulting in the loss of more than 1 day from work, or medical treatment beyond first aid, or more than 2 treatments by a physician.

When Must Report be made?

Within 10 days of the injury.

Penalties for Failure to Report

Misdemeanor; a fine of not more than $1,000 may be imposed for refusal or neglect to keep records or file required reports. A fine of up to $2,500 may be imposed by the workers’ compensation board for refusal or neglect to make the required reports.
