NORTH CAROLINA

Must Employers Maintain Records of Accidents or Injuries? 

Yes, all injuries, fatal and otherwise.

Must Employers Report Injuries?

Yes, all injuries resulting in an absence from work of 1 day or more, or medical claims in excess of $2,000. Supplementary reports are required at the termination of the disability or if the disability extends beyond 60 days.

When Must Report be made?

Within 5 days after the occurrence and knowledge therof.

Penalties for Failure to Report

Not less than $5 and not more than $25 for each offense.
