When Must Notice Be Given?

Not later than the 30th day after the injury occurs.

Exemptions to Notice Requirements

Employer has actual knowledge; workers compensation commission determines good cause exists for the failure to provide notice; employer or employer’s insurance carrier does not contest the claim.

Effect of Failure to Notify Employer 

Claim for compensation is barred.
