When Must Notice Be Given?
As soon as practicable, but at least within 7 days of the accident.
Exemptions to Notice Requirements
Notice is not required if the notice was not given because of the following; the injury or another cause beyond the control of employee prevented the filing of notice; mistake or ignorance of fact or law; physical or mental inability to give notice; fraud, misrepresentation, or deceit.
Effect of Failure to Notify Employer
The claim for compensation will be barred.
