When Must Notice Be Given?

Within 30 days after the date of injury or death.

Exemptions to Notice Requirements

If employer has knowledge of the injury or death and is not prejudiced by lack of notice, or it the workers’ compensation board excuses the failure to report on the ground that there is a satisfactory reason for employee’s failure to report.

Effect of Failure to Notify Employer 

Claim may be barred.
